Health and Safety

Here I like to highlight that a new law has taken effect in Singapore on 1 Sep 2011, which requires all personnel (local or foreign) who will be working / setting up / tearing down on our stages, to wear safety shoes. The need to wear safety shoes will include any artistic / creative / admin personnel, including , designers or tour manager, who wish to set foot onstage any time during setting up, tearing down, or when any technical adjustments are being made onstage.

With new regulation, we would like to highlight to you that your company members will need to bring the necessary safety shoes for their use during the production period in Singapore. There are penalties that are imposed by the Health and Safety authorities if this regulation is not adhered to, so we really appreciate your cooperation and understanding in this matter.

The basic requirements of a pair of safety shoes as indicated in Singapore Standards for Safety Footwear (SS513: Part 1: 2005) are as follows:

a)      Low shoe design (but preferably covering ankle for added protection)

b)      Made from leather and other materials, excluding all rubber or all polymeric footwear

c)      Safety toecap to protect toes from impact and compression

d)     non-removable insole component not less than 2.0 mm; and

e)      electrically insulating footwear
